Straightliners are providing three classes for scooters in 2007.


'Street Scooter' Class

where anyone turning up to an event on a street legal scooter who wants to race can do.

The quickest scooter to cover the 1/4 mile at the event will take home a nice trophy.


'Competition Scooter' Class

is for the modified and none street legal scooters.

There are two brackets in the 'CS' class, 14.3 seconds and 13.3 seconds.

Again the quickest 'Competition Scooter' in each bracket will take home a trophy


'Top Scooter' Class

where literaly anything goes. You can basically do what ever you want to be 'The Quickest' scooter to cover the 1/4 mile.

And once gain the quickest 'Top Scooter' will take home the trophy

Straightliners Scooter Rules for 2007

 

 

 

Street Scooter Class

 

 

Scooters in 'Street Scooter Class' must conform to the following:

 

1. Tax, Mot
2. Standard frame
3. Standard wheels and tires
4. Scooter Body work
5. Working suspension (If a scooter is designed to have shock absorbers fitted then they must be fitted and in good working order)
6. Working lights and horn
7. Engine must be a scooter engine built from scooter parts and must not include motorcycle parts
8. Roadside pump petrol
9. Normally aspirated for model of scooter
10. Scooters must be fitted with what is generally accepted as a silencer and must be visibly silenced
11. Gear changes by normal method
12. Suitable protective safety wear is required including suitable gloves, boots & ACU approved helmet

 

Riders in Street Scooter Class are advised to conform to the following:

 

ACU approved helmet with a visible gold sticker must be worn. Suitable race wear. One piece or two piece zip together leathers, boots and gloves are advisable.

 

 

 

 

 

Competition Scooter Class

 

 

Scooters in 'Competition Scooter Class' are allowed to run any of the following:

 

1. Modified frame including wheelie bars
2. None standard wheels and slick tires
3. Modified Body work
4. Non-working lights and horn
5. Locked or no suspension
6. Non-standard forks
7. Engine must be a scooter engine, any modification is allowed which includes the use of motorcycle parts
8. Roadside pump petrol (Av Gas allowed)
9. Normally aspirated for model of scooter
10. Modified gear change
11. Racing exhaust with silencer
12. Suitable protective safety wear is required including suitable gloves, boots & ACU approved helmet

 

Riders in Competition Scooter Class are advised to conform to the following:

Additional information:

 

A 'Competition Scooter' which runs quicker than 13.3 seconds will automatically score points in the 'Top Scooter' Class.

 

 

 

 

Top Scooter Class

 

 

Scooters in 'Top Scooter Class' are allowed to run any of the following:

 

1. Modified frame including wheelie bars
2. None standard wheels and slick tires
3. Modified Body work
4. Non-working lights and horn
5. Locked or no suspension
6. Non-standard forks
7. Engine must be a scooter engine, any modification is allowed which includes the use of motorcycle parts
8. Roadside pump petrol, Av Gas & Nitrous allowed
9. None standard aspiration e.g. turbo, supercharger
10. Modified gear change
11. Racing exhaust with silencer
12. Suitable protective safety wear is required including suitable gloves, boots & ACU approved helmet

 

Riders in Top Scooter Class are advised to conform to the following:

 

To conform with safety it is advised that 'Top Scooters' have an Ignition cut-out lanyard.
ACU approved helmet with a visible gold sticker must be worn. Suitable race wear. One piece or two piece zip together leathers, boots and gloves are advisable.
